RoadMates.ca Community Guidelines

Welcome to RoadMates.ca. These Community Guidelines are designed to create a respectful, helpful, and safe environment for all drivers. By using the Platform, you agree to follow these rules in addition to our Terms & Conditions.

1. Purpose of the Community

RoadMates.ca exists to support rideshare and delivery drivers by:

  • Sharing real-world experiences and tips
  • Discussing industry news and platform updates
  • Encouraging respectful peer-to-peer support

This is a driver-first community, not an official support channel for any rideshare company.

2. Be Respectful

  • Treat all members with respect and professionalism.
  • Harassment, bullying, threats, or personal attacks are not tolerated.
  • Discrimination or hate speech based on race, gender, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, disability, or any protected characteristic is strictly prohibited.

3. No Personal or Confidential Information

For privacy and safety reasons, do not post:

  • Rider or driver names, phone numbers, addresses, or emails
  • License plates, ID numbers, or payment details
  • Screenshots that include identifiable personal information
  • Private conversations without consent

Protect your privacy and the privacy of others.

4. Accurate and Responsible Sharing

  • Share information honestly and in good faith.
  • Clearly label opinions, estimates, or personal experiences.
  • Do not intentionally spread false or misleading information.
  • Remember that advice shared here is not professional, legal, tax, or safety advice.

5. Safety First

  • Do not encourage unsafe, illegal, or reckless driving behavior.
  • Do not promote fraud, account sharing, referral abuse, or policy evasion.
  • Discussions about safety concerns are allowed; instructions for illegal activity are not.

6. Advertising, Promotions, and Referrals

  • Advertising and promotions are allowed only where clearly permitted.
  • All promotional posts must be honest, transparent, and compliant with platform rules.
  • Spam, repeated posting, or deceptive promotions are prohibited.
  • Affiliate links, referral codes, or sponsored content must be clearly disclosed.

7. No Impersonation or Misrepresentation

  • Do not impersonate other users, moderators, companies, or public figures.
  • Do not claim affiliation with Uber, Lyft, or other platforms unless officially authorized.

8. Content Moderation

  • Moderators may remove content or take action that violates these Guidelines or the Terms & Conditions.
  • Actions may include warnings, content removal, account suspension, or permanent bans.
  • Moderator decisions are made to protect the community and are final.

9. Reporting Issues

If you see content that violates these Guidelines:

  • Use the reporting tools (if available), or
  • Contact the RoadMates.ca moderation team directly

Help keep the community safe and supportive.

10. Updates to These Guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines as the community grows. Continued use of the Platform means you accept any updates.
